GOSUB is the project of Miami-based producer and musician Shad T. Scott — a foundational voice in the underground electro and techno continuum, transmitting electro and techno since the mid-1990s. Described as "electro's solo surfer," Shad built his sound on a simple but radical premise: bring musicality, soul, and funk back into the machine.
His journey began as a punk band frontman in the late '80s. When that chapter closed, industrial pioneers like Skinny Puppy and Front 242 opened the door to electronics. By the early '90s he founded Isophlux Records and relocated to Los Angeles, embedding himself in professional recording — programming and engineering across pop's biggest rooms — before returning to his own frequency.
His debut GOSUB album, A Collection of Mind Frames (2000), was a statement against convention — stripping electro down to its post-industrial skeleton and rebuilding it with funk, jazz, and deep soul. It was machine music with memory: the grid locked in, the feeling wide open. A sound shaped by everything Miami absorbs — bass music rolling out of car windows, dancehall riddims, late-night jazz, classic R&B — and pointed firmly at the future.
Today, Shad continues transmitting — producing, releasing, and performing across the globe, stewarding Isophlux and pushing the signal forward.

Founded by Shad T. Scott in the early 1990s, Isophlux Records was built as an act of independence — a self-operated signal tower for electro and techno in a genre increasingly crowded with formula. Like the Detroit imprints that inspired it, Isophlux operates outside commercial logic, on its own frequency, for its own reasons.
From its first transmission — the Sand Pail EP (ISO-001, 1995) — through three decades of releases, Isophlux has been the underground home for artists who prioritize the grid over the mainstream: high tek, honest, and uncompromising. Today it remains the primary carrier of the GOSUB catalog and the Anthiliawaters project.

A GOSUB live set is a direct transmission — electro and techno pushed through the speakers at full frequency. Shad reads the room and shapes the signal to the moment: extended, fluid journeys through electro, techno, and all the music that raised him — Miami bass, dancehall, jazz, R&B, and everything in between.
From underground warehouse floors to international festival stages, GOSUB has built a devoted following across the global electro-techno circuit. Every performance is its own event — no two sets the same, no signal repeated.
